Reliving my schooling. Rebooting my life.
A couple of weeks ago, a woman from Skadaddle Media emailed me to ask if I’d share the Reschool Yourself story on camera for Mutual of Omaha’s aha moment campaign. She said she’d found me through an Internet search, and that the video production trailer was coming to Jackson as part of a nationwide road trip to collect the life-changing stories of everyday people.
Watch a short video of my aha moment here.
Here’s the synopsis of the campaign:
What is an aha moment? It’s a moment of clarity, a defining moment where you gain real wisdom - wisdom you can use to change your life. Whether big or small, funny or sad, they can be surprising and inspiring. Each one is unique, deeply personal, and we think, worth sharing.
Mutual of Omaha celebrates and honors these moments and the people who act upon them. We’re proud to have the products and services that can help people insure their possibilities.
The production staff, who were from all over the U.S., were talented and enthusiastic about Reschool Yourself. They gave me a shout-out in their blog, which I’d suggest following. Their project captures the spirit of Reschool Yourself: no matter what their age or background, people can make major changes in their lives.
At the age of 28, I went back to kindergarten. I needed to get my life back on track, and I wanted to start over from the very beginning.
Over several months, I repeated my education, from kindergarten to college. I spent the months that followed learning how to grow up. I'm still learning.
This site is a place for me to tell my story of education, and for you to tell yours: our experiences past and present, and our vision for how it could look in the future.

I was also mentioned on the aha moment site (though I have no idea why/how) and that’s how I found your site. Your site is awesome and I’m so happy I found it! Great stuff on here!!

Congrats on your aha moment! I’ll have to look for you in the videos — where are you located? You have great sites, too; I’ll be following you from now on. It’s nice to have a sister on the reschooling journey.
